Every aspect of our nature that we have nurtured, developed, and now express, has an opposite. Through denial and repression, we have effectively buried in our shadow these opposites, along with emotions and qualities that we have interpreted as 'not good enough' or 'too much'.  Unaware of our shadow, we project unacceptable parts of ourselves outwardly. Then we battle - internally and externally - to eliminate these qualities. This shadow material then leaks out with others indirectly through mistakes, misunderstandings, conflicts, and symptoms, perpetuating self structures and belief systems that prevent our conscious evolution. The result is that we narrow our life experience, and we are out of touch with our true nature, our passion and our undeveloped potentials. Our shadow is actually vital energy in need of transformation.

Format:
In this in-depth workshop we will focus primarily in the upper left, lower left and upper right quadrants where you’ll have an opportunity to practice embodying awareness and reclaiming shadow aspects in the gross, subtle and causal realms. Shadow work is soul work. As we excavate our personal 'dynamic ground' and embrace our opposites we reclaim our wholeness. To divine our elusive shadows we will use imagination, dialogue with others, movement and play.

You’ll walk away from this day not only with a better cognitive understanding of your own shadow, but with an embodied experience of how your shadow limits your full expression in all that you do.  And even better....you’ll discover a felt sense of the liberation that comes with freeing your shadow from the unconscious and living with greater awareness and a larger Self in the world.

Linda Nicholls, PhD., Dip.C.   Linda has conducted shadow workshops and workshops on body, mind, soul and spirit integration in the U.S., Canada, China and Kenya.
